Position:  Maintenance Service Order Dispatcher 

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Service Order Dispatcher to support our kitchen equipment maintenance operations across 13 dining facilities, a central warehouse, and administrative offices. This role is essential to ensuring timely repairs, accurate part sourcing, and seamless coordination between our appliance technicians and the Food Service Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch and coordinate 4–5 appliance technicians for kitchen equipment repairs (e.g., ovens, dishwashers, steamers)
  • Source and order parts from small and women-owned businesses at the lowest available cost
  • Assign and manage Purchase Order (PO) numbers for all part orders, supplies, and uniforms.
  • Maintain detailed records of invoices and part orders via spreadsheet or designated software
  • Communicate daily with the Warehouse/Property Manager and 802nd Food Service Squadron; Food Service Officer and Staff regarding part status, repair timelines, and technician updates
  • Collaborate with technicians to verify part specifications before ordering
  • Handle a high-volume phone line with professionalism and accuracy
  • Generate monthly reports summarizing part expenses, repair status, and outstanding orders
  • Any other tasks assigned

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in dispatching, procurement, or administrative coordination (food service or maintenance preferred)
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, order tracking systems, email communication)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-call-volume environment
  • Familiarity with government contracting and small business procurement practices is a plus

Reporting & Compliance

This position plays a key role in supporting federal compliance and cost tracking. Attention to detail and accountability are essential.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Full-time, on-site at Lackland AFB
  • Compensation aligned with Wage Determination
  • Benefits available per federal contracting standards
  • Rate of pay $22.68 plus Fringe Benefits rate of $4.98 or $2.02 per hour (this requires explanation during interview)

Food Service Specialist

  • Responsibilities: Prepares and serves meals, ensures proper food storage and sanitation, maintains cleanliness in food preparation areas, and adheres to dietary guidelines.

  • Skills: Food handling, meal preparation, sanitation procedures, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Cook

  • Responsibilities: Prepares and cooks meals according to recipes, monitors kitchen operations, maintains cleanliness, and ensures food safety compliance.

  • Requirements: Some cooking experience is required. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and following standardized recipes.

  • Skills: Culinary techniques, time management, food safety knowledge, and creativity in food preparation.

Storeroom

  • Responsibilities: Receives, stores, and issues supplies or equipment, maintains inventory records, and ensures organized storage.

  • Requirements: Some experience working in a storeroom, warehouse, or inventory-related role is preferred. Must be detail-oriented and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • Skills: Inventory management, organizational skills, basic computer knowledge, and physical stamina.

Human Resources

  • Responsibilities: Manage recruitment process including candidate outreach, job postings, interviews, and new hire orientation. Maintain employee records, issue uniforms, submit base pass requests, and support HR functions such as payroll updates and compliance.

  • Requirements: Minimum 2 years HR experience with at least 1 year in recruitment. Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

  • Skills: Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills. Proficiency with ADP or similar HR/payroll systems preferred. Bilingual in Spanish or ASL a plus.

Supervisor

  • Responsibilities: Oversee dining facility operations in the absence of the manager. Ensure compliance with contract requirements, Tri-Service Food Code, sanitation standards, and portion control. Supervise and train staff, monitor food quality, and track monetary income within authorized limits.

  • Requirements: 3 years of supervisory experience in food service within the last 10 years. Valid state driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation. Must pass background check for base access and obtain DoD Common Access Card. Ability to type 20 WPM and perform physical tasks (lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs, stand/walk long shifts, bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs).

  • Skills: Leadership, staff training, operations management, and compliance monitoring. ServSafe Manager certification preferred (training options discussed during interview).

Cashier/Clerk (Part Time)

  • Responsibilities: Accurately process transactions, handle collections and disbursements, and maintain balanced cash drawers. Provide customer service in a fast-paced environment. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

  • Requirements: Basic math skills, cash handling accuracy, and ability to stand for up to 4 hours. Must pass annual background check for base access.

  • Skills: Customer service, attention to detail, and reliability in handling money.

Quality Assurance Evaluator

  • Responsibilities: Monitor dining facility operations to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and contract requirements. Conduct inspections, audits, and GMP checks. Track corrective actions, support pest control, and maintain food safety documentation. Provide training and promote a constructive team environment.

  • Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of food service experience. Current ServSafe certification required. Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and computer/data entry skills. Ability to pass background check for base access.

  • Skills: Knowledge of food safety practices, compliance monitoring, auditing, and record keeping. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

Floor Maintenance

  • Responsibilities: Clean, strip, wax, polish, and maintain vinyl tile flooring in dining facilities to ensure a polished, professional appearance. Follow instructions from management and adhere to safety procedures.

  • Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, stooping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods. Must be able to read and understand safety instructions and chemical data sheets.

  • Skills: Attention to detail, ability to follow directions, and knowledge of safe cleaning practices. Driver’s license preferred.
